Pokémon Scarlet and Violet to Receive Free Nintendo Switch 2 Update
Nintendo has announced that *Pokémon Scarlet* and *Pokémon Violet* will receive a free update for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. This update is expected to improve the games’ performance and graphics, making them more suited for the next-gen console.
Originally released in 2022, *Pokémon Scarlet* and *Pokémon Violet* introduced over 100 new Pokémon, including the Paradox Pokémon, and saw two expansions in 2023, followed by an epilogue in January 2024. While the games received mixed reviews at launch, particularly due to performance issues and an open-world design that some found underwhelming, subsequent updates have improved the experience, keeping the games popular.
The free update for the Nintendo Switch 2 will likely enhance the games’ visuals and overall performance, although exact details remain unclear. It’s expected to launch by June 5, alongside the Switch 2’s release.
