Hideo Kojima has revealed he already has a concept for *Death Stranding 3*, even before the release of *Death Stranding 2: On the Beach*. The sequel is set to launch on June 24, continuing the story of Sam Bridges 11 months after the original game, this time exploring new regions like Mexico and Australia.

Speaking during a recent Q\&A, Kojima discussed the potential for future *Death Stranding* entries, citing the new “Plate Gate” fast-travel mechanic as a foundation for future sequels. “If I use this Plate Gate concept, I could make endless sequels,” he told VGC.

Despite his excitement, Kojima made it clear that he has no intention of directing *Death Stranding 3*. If it happens, he would prefer to hand the series off to another team. Kojima Productions is already focusing on *OD*, a mysterious horror project co-developed with filmmaker Jordan Peele, and later, *Physint*, a game-movie hybrid that marks Kojima’s return to espionage action.

While the future of *Death Stranding* beyond the upcoming sequel is uncertain, fans can look forward to *Death Stranding 2* this June, and possibly more stories in the universe down the road.
