A new post on Xbox Wire has released more information regarding the next generation backward compatibility of the upcoming Xbox collection X.
Jason Ronald, Director of Program Management for Xbox Series X, stated the importance of players maintaining their gambling legacy. The team originally released Xbox 360 compatibility for the Xbox One in 2015, and Ronald said that he continues to deliver this commitment to the next generation.
He said the same team behind the backward compatibility of the Xbox One will even lead the initiative together with the Xbox collection X. To be able to attain this aim, over 100,000 hours of play testing have been completed across tens of thousands of unique games. These names are already playable on Xbox Series X as of now, and range from major blockbusters to cult classics to fan favorites. From the time the machine launches this vacation period, a collective 200,000 hours of play testing will have already been completed.
Note that backwards compatible games will operate on the Xbox collection X hardware, and will use the full power of the CPU, GPU and the SSD of this system. There will be no boost manner and no downclocking, that will ensure that titles will see greater and more stable frame rates, maximum resolutions, as well as discounts in in-game load times.
Also included in this backward compatibility is a new HDR facelift technique.
At length, the Quick Resume feature will let players jump back in right where they left off across multiple titles. This attribute has been designed at the stage level, and does not need any additional work from name developers.
