The hottest weekly survey of most-anticipated forthcoming games from Japanese magazine Famitsu is in, and the winner could be surprising to some. The number one place belongs to Bandai Namco’s in-development JRPG Tales of Arise, accruing 657 entire votes between October 22 and October 28. Tales of Arise will be the initial launch in the franchise because 2016, so it’s easy to see why Famitsu readers could be enthused about it.
Number 2 on Famitsu’s listing is Cyberpunk 2077. The December 10 release probably has Famitsu subscribers’ expectancy building to a peak. Third on the list is Dragon Hunter Rise, the Nintendo Switch-exclusive Dragon Hunter game declared in mid-September. Fourth is another entry in Capcom’s most-popular franchise, Resident Evil Village. Rounding out the top five is just another Nintendo Switch exclusive, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of this Wild two.

The top ten records also have Final Fantasy 16, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Shin Megami Tensei 5, Bayonetta 3, and Bravely Default two. Six distinct Nintendo Switch matches are at the top ten, together with the rest being PlayStation games. The PC and Xbox proceed completely unrepresented at the upper ten, though this isn’t especially surprising for Japanese viewers.
Compared with the prior week’s ranks, there has not been much change on Famitsu’s record. The largest change was the rise of Dragon Hunter Rise from fifth to the third party and Final Fantasy 16 around sixth. Maybe since the holiday season begins, players could feel nostalgic for their favorite franchises after the next-gen consoles launching. Nevertheless, it is difficult to argue that these games do not deserve a high positioning in peoples’ list of pursuits.
