Stream sniping is a clinic that has grown together with streaming platforms such as Twitch and YouTube. Snipers see streamers play a game on the internet and utilize that information to combine the same game to assist or foiling the streamer’s attempts.
On Saturday, through a Fall Men Twitch Rivals contest, streamer xQc’s team blatantly queued to the match and interfered with a game involving DrLupo’s and Shroud’s teams. Originally, following an intense backlash in another Twitch streamers involved with the match, xQc apologized on Twitter, saying that his actions were wrong and that what he believed could be amusing turned into something malicious.

Now, but it appears that there was maybe another motive behind xQc’s worsening behavior throughout the Fall Men competition. In a newly published Twitch clip after a game, a sniper could be observed running before Twitch streamer DrLupo. Yet rather than going to the win and grabbing the Fall Men crown, the sniper just stopped and waited, allowing DrLupo to snag the win rather.
XQc captured the behavior and was obviously not pleased with the blatant sniping that allowed DrLupo to win the Fall Men match. “Can you guys see that?” XQc asked incredulously from the clip. “The sniper gave him the win.” Then he rewound the footage pointed out the sniper, who could have gone to the crown and rather allowed DrLupo to receive it. “That’s incredible,” xQc exclaimed.
This unfairness might really be exactly what spurred xQc along with his Fall Men team to the lineup for the identical game as DrLupo and Shroud even after his group was removed. They jumped to snipe the gamers on the opposite teams, catching them to keep them from moving and interfering with the game. It is not clear if this behavior had some substantial effect on the contest results, but it was not taken liberally from the opponents at the end of this meddlesome sniping.
When many folks defended xQc’s activities, Shroud pointed out that xQc might be prohibited from Twitch as a consequence of his activities, possibly because sniping is a breach of Twitch’s terms of service because it had been immediately interfering with the results of an official occasion with cash rewards at stake. But xQc has not been prohibited by Twitch because of his behavior. However, the problem does bring the need for Mediatonic, the programmers of Fall Men, to add personal lobbies to the match to reduce sniping later on.
