Gears 5 has seen numerous fun cameos and guest appearances since its debut, adding Terminator: Dark Fate character packs last year and a Halo: Attain DLC comprising playable versions of Kat and Emile. The game even added the option to play a fully-voiced alternative campaign where WWE icon Batista takes on the role of Marcus Fenix, riffing on the actor’s desire to play the video game icon at a live-action movie adaptation.
It appears Batista won’t be the sole professional wrestler to leap Gears 5, however, with Xavier Woods declaring that popular WWE tag team The New Day will officially be coming to the game. That means players can jump into multiplayer games as Woods, Kofi Kingston, and Big E quite soon since the trio chainsaw their way via Locusts while channeling the energy of pleasure.

As expected for the eccentric Raw Tag Team Champions, Woods, Kingston, and Big E will don colorful, blue, and pink COG armor resembling their in-ring attire within the WWE. Their models look incredibly authentic, too, together with the trio of celebrities all looking near-identical to their real-life counterparts. Speaking on the crossover, Xavier Woods claims he’s been”playing with Gears of War for many years (& reading the novels ),” so the chance to officially become part of this franchise is a dream come true. Although there’s no exact date shared for when players can expect to march the legendary WWE tag team into battle, the versions shown off by Woods appear to signify that the trio is well on their way to making their debuts.
As many will undoubtedly understand, Xavier Woods (real name Austin Watson) was a fixture in the gambling community in the last couple of years, cultivating his YouTube channel UpUpDownDown to the main part of the Let’s Play scene. He plays several major games on the series, roping in fellow WWE stars like Tyler Breeze, Alexa Bliss, Cesaro, Adam Cole, and Sasha Banks. Of course, Kofi Kingston and Big E are enormous staples of the show and fellow professional wrestlers making appearances in several’ blocks of wood’ videos.
Being added to the roster of Gears 5 is just another achievement on the listing for its longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions, as they may now combine Batista in slaying the Locust horde. The news follows Gears 5’s Hollow Storm update, which added new characters, maps, and also a series of PvE changes. The game was recently enhanced for the Xbox Series X, boasting updated visuals and 120 FPS in multiplayer matches.
