Zero Hour Game 2021 Overview
An online tactical FPS that combines team-based action gaming with real-life scale and resource management. Zero Hour is inspired by tactical shooter games and aims to provide a grounded CO-OP experience and Team vs Team experience at real-life scales (no videogame scales) and resource management. Both sides have to defeat the other team and accomplish their objectives. Defenders are responsible for protecting the bomb and keeping their hostage safe from being rescued or run away. The attackers, on the other hand, are to either defuse or rescue the hostage. Depending on which map you choose to play, the CO-OP mode will have multiple objectives that must be met to call for extract.
TACTICAL GAMEPLAY
Zero Hour is a CO-OP, 5v5 team vs team combat game. It focuses on two teams, each with its own roles. The terrorists use traps and gadgets to fortify their area, while the attackers utilize weapons and shields. CO-OP allows you to take on larger operations, which you can do either solo or in a group of 5. You can choose between “Regular” and “Hardcore” difficulty levels. The difficulty level determines the enemy’s reaction time and predictability. This game mode won’t prioritize killing all enemies but will allow stealthy approaches to complete objectives. If you are in the right situation, you can arrest your enemies. Also, you will need to gather evidence, such as weapons dropped by the enemy.
CO-OP
We have added the CO-OP mode to our game. This allows players to experience SWAT units. You can play larger operations solo or with up to five players. Each operation has a different objective. For example, you might be asked to bring order to chaos. You will be required to rescue multiple hostages and arrest or neutralize specific suspects. There are many more objectives that are being developed. The suspects can interact with the environment and have different patrol routes. They are capable of hiding under tables, beds, and closets. They can also take hostages and use them to make it difficult for you to engage. A few criteria will determine whether or not suspects surrender. If they are outnumbered from behind, they will surrender. If they are facing you one-on-one, it will be determined by the suspect’s fear.
PLANNING TABLE
MS-09 Unit (The Attacking Team) can create strategies at the beginning of each round by drawing a planning table with a 3D miniature of the area being played, similar to blueprints. This can be used by teammates to indicate where they should spawn or advance. You can place three types of markers around the planning table. These markers can be used to indicate danger or objectives. The Terrorists (The Defending Team) will have the opportunity to place traps and other gadgets during this phase.
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Each Team has resources they must manage for 3 rounds. The Attacking team has two sets of five types of weapons, while the Defending Team has five sets of five types of gadgets. This is important for saving resources, picking up your opponents’ weapons and not giving your enemies an advantage.
HOSTAGE
The hostage being held by the defenders will be able to think for itself and would likely run away if it wasn’t careful. It is important to watch the hostage and make sure it moves wherever necessary.
DOORS
The doors encourage slow, tactical gameplay to create a realistic atmosphere. Both teams would be forced to pause before entering a room, as they won’t know what is going on behind the doors.
BREAKER SWITCH
The entire operation building you are playing on is completely blacked out by the switch. The tactical flashlight will be used to illuminate the surrounding area so players can’t see it.
