Marvel Fan Shows Off Incredible Black Cat Cosplay

It seems the world of cosplay has been enjoying its own little renaissance lately, powering through this socially distanced time of strife (often with the help of that other Strife) with grace and nonstop momentum. The world’s obsession with Marvel has made cosplayers a rich stew. It’s easy to forget that not every Marvel character has made it into the movies or shows.

Please take the time to appreciate Manic Starlet’s cosplay. He is an expert in this art form and a fan of Harley Quinn. After all the Marvel talk, let’s now focus on someone who loves DC. This chaos would make Harley proud. Although she has a special love for the many iterations that alabaster anti-hero has been in, her latest attempt has taken things in a completely different direction. She traded in the red for some silver and created a fantastic version of Marvel’s thief, Black Cat.

Manic Starlet perfectly captured Black Cat’s look, right down to the black leather suit and fuzzy collar. The ensemble is completed by a classic mask and long, silvery hair. There is likely some ill-gotten jewellery. The outfit appears to be based more on the comic’s look than the 2018 PS4 game’s version of Black Cat.

Felicia Hardy’s alter ego is Black Cat, a highly skilled thief. She isn’t necessarily a villain, but she would hate it if you called him a hero. She is mostly focused on her own affairs, and she marches and steals to her own tune. These affairs often include Spider-Man, which can lead to many run-ins between them in a professional or personal capacity. Mary Jane Watson doesn’t like Spider-Man.

Like Catwoman in the DC universe, Black Cat occupies that oddly specific space for the extremely flirty burglar with a good heart who somehow manages to get away every time. Both characters’ designs tend to be more sexualized than their actual costumes. Manic Starlet Cosplay’s interpretation of the character is an excellent example. It pays homage to the classic look while making it more practical with a slightly higher zipped front.

This is just a subjective view and one aspect of cosplay. This is a beautiful piece of art in that context. The departure from her usual fare of Harley Quinn and Harley Quinn accessories proves Manic Starlet’s range as a cosplay artist, and there’s sure to be lots more to come from her in the future.
