What If…?: Episode 3 Hints At Bigger Stories In The Series
After three episodes, that if …? It has certainly delivered on its promise of turning the tide. Marvel Cinematic UniverseStorylines that involve the heroes fans love since Robert Downey Jr.’s first performance was upside-down iron Man suit back in 2008
However, for its third seemingly unrelated chapter, the show dares ask an even bigger question with the title “What If… The World Lost Its Mightiest Heroes?” as audiences are left to see how Hank Pym’s most notorious comic book persona goes into full Yellowjacket mode to take out each one of the Avengers, thus leaving planet Earth prime for the taking in the eyes of Loki. This is an unfortunate scenario for the universe, even though Nick Fury can always rely on his trusted pager to ask Captain Marvel for assistance.
It is important to remember that Captain Carter will meet Hawkeye, killed by Pym, not Nick Fury. This means fans are now looking at two universes (most likely three) with many more realities. What is the point of all these universes being depicted? The What if earliest trailers indicate that the series is creating a multiverse crossover, bundled with a new team of Avengers.
Unless What If …? __S.17__ With its current state, it would seem that this universe is the best place for evil to flourish. This is because Nick Fury’s Avenger Initiative is less staffed than ever, with him having nearly as many superhero caskets as Thanos.
And that’s just as far as that reality goes because while The Watcher has so far been limited to carefully overseeing the development of these events, producers did initially say that it was this otherworldly being and Captain Carter who was supposed to be on the story’s forefront. Peggy Carter can be seen as the alternate Avengers assembled with T’Challa’s Star-Lord and Erik Killmonger like Black Panther. The variants known as Party Thor and Gamora are also visible. However, screenwriters are keeping their cards close to their chests before revealing the details.
To that end, aside from the three previously mentioned characters, there may be three more characters left with potential roles in the splot. These are the darker Doctor Strange, who is seen talking to Captain Carter, and the caped Spider-Man. With only 6 episodes and three hours left of television, this will be quite a task.
