Lord Of The Rings: What Is The Importance Of The Ents?

The TheLord of the RingsMovies and books many fascinating species are featured. Fans are fascinated by all these amazing species, from Hobbits to Dwarves to Elves to Wizards. An Ent is a particularly fascinating creature. When Merry (Dominic Monaghan), and Pippin, (Billy Boyd), escape into the Fangorn forest to flee from the Uruk-hai and orcs, they encounter an Ent. Treebeard is the Ent’s name and he agrees that he will call all the Ents in Fangorn forest to a meeting.

The Lord of the Rings books shows them agreeing to fight Saruman at the meeting. However, the movies show Treebeard calling the other Ents after seeing the damage Saruman has done to the trees around Isengard. Pippin suggested that Treebeard and Merry go to Isengard. Saruman won’t be looking for them there. Both versions of the story show that the Ents play an important role in defeating Saruman and thus in winning the War of the Ring. But what about their role outside of that? They inspire viewers.

It is important to understand the history and function of the Ents to answer these questions. The Ents are very old creatures on Middle Earth. Yavanna, one Ainur and Valar heard about the creations of dwarves and was afraid that they would decimate all the trees on Middle Earth. Ents were created to protect the trees. It is not clear what the Ents’ early history was like after they were created. They were mentioned in stories near the end of the First Age. The Ents protected all of Eriador at one time. Fangorn forest only covered the Eastern portion of Eriador. These forests were eventually destroyed in the Second Age. There were also Ent-wives. However, they left the Ents because they loved planting and controlling things.

Of course, the area where the ent-wives moved was destroyed by Sauron. The Ents aren’t sure what happened to the Ent-wives or if they survived. However, the Ents believe that they will one day see the wives again once they have lost all their other possessions. Treebeard hears Merry and Pippin talk about the Shire and thinks that the wives might have liked it. He asks Merry to watch out for them. Their numbers had drastically declined by the time Merry, Pippin and Treebeard meet Treebeard and all the Ents. Treebeard says that there are no Endings or young Ents because there are no Ent-wives. It is difficult to believe that Endings will soon be available without Ent-wives. They head to Isengard when Merry and Pippin convince Saruman (Sir Christopher Lee) to go to war. They flood the area and trap Saruman (Sir Christopher Lee) with Grima Wormtongue (Brad Dourif), in the tower at Orthanc. Treebeard protects them but isn’t able to keep doing so forever because Saruman can be quite persuasive and Treebeard doesn’t like the idea to imprison any living thing.

Some orcs heading towards Rohan were also defeated by the Ents. After the War of the Ring is over, Treebeard and the rest of the Ents are gifted land by the new King, Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen). The new King, Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), promises that the Ents can once again thrive and will relaunch their search for Ent-wives. Treebeard believes that the Ents and the forests will return, but not the Ents. Treebeard doesn’t abandon his quest to find ent-wives completely, however, he asks Merry and Pippin if they spot any near the Shire. Many Ents relocate their trees to the land they were given by Nan Curunir and Aragorn. It is now known as the Watchwood or the Treegarth in Orthanc. Most people know the Ents, particularly in the Lord of the Rings movies for their crucial role in defeating Saruman. Fans will be aware that Saruman works with Sauron, and therefore is on the side for evil. The Ents are a part of his defeat, so that would make them on the side for good. They are created to protect the forests of Middle Earth. Their original purpose is good.

The Ents serve a greater purpose than protecting the forests and defeating Saruman. These characters are so beloved and so inspiring. The Ents are on the side of good, so fans love to root for them. The Ents are more than just characters. They are symbols of nature. The defeat of Saruman by the Ents is nature’s victory against industrialization. Industrialization isn’t always a bad thing. It all comes down to balance. It is wrong to destroy nature and ignore it, as Saruman in Lord of the Rings did. The Ents are a great example of this. The Ents encourage viewers to take care of the environment and respect it.

They’ll be like Saruman if they don’t. What’s more? Lord of the Rings fans would like that what is the answer? Saruman is actually on the side of evil. Fans would rather stick with the positive side. In this instance, it’s the Ents. But not all fans will like every Ents team. Lord of the RingsThis assessment of the Ents will be a popular one. Others might not find their defeat of Saruman too symbolic or inspired by it. It’s okay, everyone is different. The Ents are fascinating characters who play an important role in the War of the Ring. The Fellowship and everyone on the side for good would be in worse shape without them. They are symbolic of great respect for nature and seem symbolic.
