7 new indie games coming to Switch today
The Nintendo Switch’s indie catalogue continues to expand in power.
Nintendo revealed that fan-favourite games like Loop Hero, Tetris Effect and others will soon be available on the portable console. You don’t have to wait until everything is released.
You can download a few games from the Nintendo eShop, just like with the previous indie showcases. Seven games are available, including the charming RPG Garden Story and Slime Rancher port. Check out the complete list of seven games that are launching today.
Axiom Verge 2
Axiom Verge 2 (Metroidvania) is the sequel to Axiom Verge. Polygon voted the original Axiom Verge the best indie Metroidvania for the Nintendo Switch. The sequel follows the same tradition as the original and retains the classic pixelated graphics that the Metroid games of the NES are known for.
Boyfriend Dungeon
Boyfriend Dungeon is a game where you fight with your weapons, then date them. You’ll find that your weapons can transform into gorgeous baddies as you navigate this dungeon crawler. This is a playful combination of dating sims, dungeon crawlers and other genres.
Necrobarista: The Final Pour
Pour coffees for the deaf in Necrobarista – Final Pour available from Route 59 or Coconut Island Games. The Switch will get this visual novel in anime style with new features and additional story content. Remastered visuals will also be available.
Islanders: Console Edition
Grizzly Games’ and Coatsink’s Islanders are peaceful strategy games that allow you to develop the land by putting small buildings on it. This game is simple in that you place items from your inventory to earn points. However, it has relaxing vibes.
Garden Story
You might have seen Picogram or Rose City Games’ Garden Story at the Wholesome Games Showcase. You can play as a cute little vine on a quest for its community.
Slime Rancher – Plortable Edition
Nintendo Switch will soon get Slime Rancher, a first-person slime farming game. Monomi Park’s official game was released in 2017. It’s great to see the franchise come to Nintendo Switch finally. A Switch release is also a great excuse to grab the series in anticipation of Slime Rancher 2, the sequel.
