Payday 3: Spread the word, the gang has reunited in New York
Payday 2 was a multiplayer game that enjoyed a loyal following. The heist-’em up had legs, too. It stayed around for quite a while and was served by lots of DLC. However, despite knowing that a Payday 3 was being developed, as with all good plans until the right time, the information was kept secret.
Starbreeze Entertainment now has the opportunity to reveal its plans for the next game in the series. The main thing is that it will be set in New York City. Erik Wonnevi, the game director, described the space as a “living and enormous representation” of the city.
The story will continue from Payday 2 and feature the gang back together, but with a lot of media attention. We will have to wait and see how this plotline plays out.
The world has changed since the last game and the boys Dallas, Chains Wolf, Wolf, and Hoxton now have many digital crimes to choose from. There are software companies to steal, crypto to be stolen and everything linked together by the Dark Web.
It has been four years since the first rumors of a third installment in the series. This has made it a long wait for the details to be revealed on the Payday 10th Anniversary live stream. You can also watch the entire five-hour video below.
At this point, we are looking at 2023 as the release date. However, that may seem a little too soon considering that we have not seen anything at this stage. We will expect to see gameplay footage if it does land within that time frame.
