Age of Empires 4 was officially launched on October 28, and its player count already surpasses the 50,000 mark just two hours after it opened its doors to digital generals from around the globe.

Age of Empires 4’s Steam player counts are on par with Humankind ‘s which saw more than 50,000 concurrent users at its peak.

According to website Steam Database, Age of Empires 4 is currently being played by 54,127 players concurrently at the time of this writing. Although this has not allowed the title to crack the top 10 on Valve’s storefront, it is possible that more people will play later in the evening.

Remember that this is only one side of Age of Empires 4’s player count. This title was launched on PC, but it is also available through the Microsoft Store and Xbox Game Pass. The latter being an increasingly popular way to play new titles recently.

Our review revealed that players who have enjoyed older games in the series “will be pleased with the new graphics and the gameplay to keep the same fast-paced feeling,”. However, it was noted that AoE 4 makes it easy to lose your pace during missions.
