Evil Genius 2 Lets You Be Your Dream Villain | Best Games Of 2021
2021. It’s been “a year.” We’re celebrating this collection of sun rotations by looking at the top 2021 games. Next: Evil Genius 2 – World Domination
It’s essential to push your limits and try new things in your hobbies and life. I do with video games, even though I know I shouldn’t apply it to food. Gears Tactics was released on consoles last year. Gears Tactics was a great stepping stone for me who bounced off XCOM.
The year 2012 would be no different. Rebellion’s Evil Genius 2 World Domination was the unfamiliar title that caught my attention. Although it took me a while to get the game ported to consoles, my laptop could not run World 1-1 of Super Mario Bros. It was well worth it. Even on consoles, it turns out that you can have a lot of fun playing the Bond villain of your dreams.
You will take control of one or more evil villains. Each has its abilities and perks. Your goal is to form the evilest group in the world and use it to grab world nations by the hair and curlies. You’ll initially send your minions out to commit minor crimes. But by the end, you will be building doomsday devices and protecting your home from super-powered do-gooders. They will ruin your wicked fun!
Console management games can be mixed. They are, in general, great ports that can capture massive amounts of data and trackable metrics and apply them to a console layout. However, they can be confusing to use because of the complicated controls and menus.
Evil Genius 2’s controller experience feels much more natural than any other management game I’ve ever played. The game shines on a platform that could have done a disservice. There is some fiddliness involved in selecting minions or agents in crowded areas, but that’s why the pause button exists. “Oops! I’ll stop time and fix this problem right away.”
Evil Genius 2’s beauty is its ability to onboard players with its systems and slowly drip-feed new ideas and mechanics throughout a long tutorial. Because the base-building mechanics of EG2 are so easy, it is straightforward to use. Although Planet Coaster was a great tutorial, the actual construction of the coaster felt rushed when using controllers. Also, managing the ride’s different attributes proved difficult. This is where the building and expanding process is much more rewarding.
Although you start with nothing, it’s rewarding to see the base grow over time. From a corridor with some minions to a fully functioning base with hundreds of ne’er-do wells on the payroll, it’s an exciting experience. This growth is what powers EG2’s gameplay loop. As you build a more extensive base with more powerful equipment, you can expand your criminal network and earn more money to buy more base necessities. As you add new rooms to your lair or replace old equipment with better, more efficient items, it feels like a story within a story. The end goal of world dominance is sweet, but the journey is just as sweet.
My first Evil Genius 2 session was the best sign of the game’s quality. It was 2 am, and I knew tha2 asleep was not in my future. I decided that EG 2 was the best option with no other options. There’s no better time than right now. My criminal empire was established in half of the world in a matter of seconds. I felt it all flash by, so I checked the time at 7 AM. Do you want seven am now? What is the worst part? I was determined to continue.
Because I was so infatuated with Evil Genius 2 and watching my little evil enterprise take over the world, I was happy to stay on the couch and play Evil Genius 2 until the end. Rebellion may be the evil geniuses who created Evil Genius 2, a game that is so addictive that silly games writers stare at their laptops because they are too tired to write. Or I need to get my head straight. Evil Genius 2 is fantastic, and Christmas will be filled more with torture chambers and freeze rays than advent calendars or stockings this year.
