NBA 2k22 Update: The first NBA 2K22 patch notes for 2022 removes Level 40+ stars
As of January 10, the first NBA 2K22 patch for 2022 has been released. Take-Two has not released the official patch notes. We will update you when they are available. However, there have been some reports that the new patch has made it, so that player stars are no longer available. We’ll hopefully hear more about this in the coming hours.
NBA 2K22 patch notes: removing stars
UPDATE: January 12, 2022 — The missing stars are not mentioned in the patch notes. Players who have lost them may have received their prizes back, or they will be replaced as soon as possible to ensure that players can redeem their prizes before the season ends. Patch notes reveal that the new season will begin on Friday, January 14, 2022. The stars will be irrelevant by then.
Once players reach Level 40, stars are awarded to them. Players can receive a maximum of four stars as they progress beyond the Level cap. Some players have complained that the NBA 2K22 patch removed their stars. This appears to be an error, and we will likely see a patch before Season 4.

According to reports, the Xbox One update is 38.57GB, and the PlayStation One update is 23.152GB. Both are large downloads for a mid-season update. It is not surprising that some changes will be in the patch notes and preparations for Season 4.
