A Fan Recreates the Legend of Zelda Map Using More Than 25,000 LEGO Bricks
What do you think is cool? LEGO. What’s even more incredible? The Legend of Zelda. These claims could lead one to conclude that the result would be excellent if you combined the two. You would be correct.
Ian Roosma (a Zelda fan extraordinaire) recreated the entire map using LEGO pieces. There were over 25,000 LEGO pieces involved.
A video was uploaded to Roosma’s YouTube channel. It shows a complete walkthrough of the map. This is exactly like the game. There are 2779 trees and 493 enemies in LEGO Hyrule.
The YouTube comments are filled with support. It was great to see the entire walkthrough in LEGO. Princessetch wrote, “Thanks for sharing!” Andrew Smith wrote, “I’m waiting to see if someone re-skin this game with that so we all can play it for real!”
So, why? Roosma told Kotaku that The Legend of Zelda is one of his first games and that it’s incredibly nostalgic because it was the start of open-world games. He said that the developer drops the player somewhere, deciding where and what to do.
It took four months to complete the project, from design to completion. We agree that the end product is beautiful at 30 inches high and 86 inches wide. It now hangs proudly on Roosma’s wall, as it should.
