After being mistaken for a bank robber, ‘Black Panther Director’ is detained.
Human beings make mistakes. Some of these mistakes are more serious than others.
It is rare for anyone to make such a big mistake as this one in a Bank Of America branch. Ryan Coogler, movie director and currently working on a sequel of his Black Panther for Marvel success – had to withdraw an enormous amount from his account. He wanted to ensure that it was done discreetly.
A group of cops storming into a bank to detain a prominent Hollywood director is an excellent example of discretion. Coogler was detained after the bank teller who processed his transaction suspected him of being a bank burglar.
Coogler was dressed in a light green hoodie and a black hat. He also wore sunglasses and a standard Covid mask as he approached the counter to complete his transaction. As he spoke with the teller, he handed over a note on a slip. It stated that he wanted to withdraw $12,000 from his checking account. Please move the money to another place. “I’d like to keep it discreet.” The teller informed their supervisor about the situation and contacted the authorities.
Two of the directors’ colleagues waited outside by Coogler in a vehicle. The police then handcuffed them and took them into custody. The police then entered the branch and detained Coogler, waiting outside in a car. They later confirmed his identity and released all involved within a short time.
A spokesperson for Bank Of America stated that the bank regretted that the incident happened. Google stated that the incident should not have occurred and apologized to Mr Coogler. Bank of America worked with us to resolve it to my satisfaction, and we are now moving on.”
If you are having a bad day at the office, don’t think you were trying to rob a Hollywood star.
