The Controversial Elden Ring Boss Was Nerfed and Fans Aren’t Happy
FromSoftware fans can be quite funny. They will spend hours trying to reach the bottom of a dangerous and increasingly complicated dungeon full of traps only to be thrown off the edge by a random floor. Then they’ll stop laughing and start over again.
We are just masochists at heart. However, calling on FromSoftware to make one of Elden Ring‘s most frustrating bosses easier again seems a bit excessive.
Yet, this is exactly what a subset of Elden Ringplayers seems to be doing. FromSoftware has made some tweaks to enemies and weapons as part of the recent, massive update. One of the most noticeable changes is? It has been marginally simplified the infuriating Starscourge Radahn boss fight.
Radahn, before the patch, was generally considered one of the most difficult bosses due to his combination of devastating long-range attacks, a large health bar and the ability to transform into a terrifying meteor that could instantly wipe out players if they didn’t high-tail it to safety.
Dataminers have found that Radahn does less damage after a patch and is less likely to strike players. Players who have beaten Radahn believe others should also experience this. This is not a popular view. It’s a lot like the boomers who believe their children should live in misery and high costs because it was not better when they were younger.
Reddit has nearly 24,000 users calling On FromSoftware to buff Radahn. Why? People want to brag about beating him pre-patch.
One user said, “So glad that I fought and defeated him before the nerf.” “One of my favorite and most enjoyable fights in all souls games.”
Another added, “I just fought he in NG+ post patch. I was severely disappointed.” “Literally finished he before his second phase.”
