League of Legends Player Argues That Fixing MMR is Impossible Today

MMRs are so crucial in League that one player took to Reddit to make their case. This is because fixing your MMR now is more difficult than in the game’s history.
League of Legends Player Says It’s Impossible to Fix MMR
User Krookz_ explained the point by describing how things used to look. For example, if they won 10-15 games consecutively a few years back, their MMR would change, receiving more points for each win.
They said, “Nowadays it feels that where your MMR places you, you stay regardless of how well you do.” My gains were the same after I had waited a few days.
Krookz_ said that they don’t want to create a new account to get a rating. He added, “It feels like cheating, and it’s been on my account for years.”
Many players responded to the post, sharing their MMR woes. Ask said: “The system does what it’s supposed to.” It rewards/punishes only one lucky streak and not the whole season.
Pl1xpl0x shared a similar experience. He said: “After reaching the p1, my losses skyrocketed, and my gains got a lot smaller. For playing consistently well and climbing, I shouldn’t get punished. It took my motivation to rank tbh.
Another user, RDKi, linked it to wider matchmaking problems, saying: “I also doubt why you don’t get placed with 9 better players if your win streaks go on, but you instead get worse teammates to carry’ to prove yourself. This is counterproductive to learning, improving, and ranking up.
Some newer players are also affected by the problems, as GoodGevalia explains that streamer time is having trouble learning the game. “It’s been great watching one of my favorite streamers learn it, but you can see the LP system influences his perception of the game.
