All we know about Overwatch 2’s new Heroes, including Sojourn

Overwatch 2’s beta launch is imminent. With it, there are new Heroes expected to join the roster. Sojourn is the first to be added to the Beta roster. Blizzard showed gameplay for the 33rd Overwatch Hero and gave a detailed rundown of Sojourn’s kit in a Blog post.

Sojourn

Sojourn uses her Railgun as her primary weapon. A projectile that produces energy upon hitting the target is the primary fire. The energy is then used to power her secondary fire. This secondary fire uses stored energy and produces high-impact shots. Senior Hero Designer Josh Noh explains that Sojourn’s goal is to be a “mid-range hero who rewards accuracy”. “The more precise your aim, the better you’re going with her Railgun,” making Sojourn a challenging Hero with a high skill ceiling.

Disruptor shot is her first ability. This AoE ability can snare or damage enemies. This makes opponents immobile and can be used to charge her secondary fire with ease. Original designs featured Disruptor Shot to slow down enemies or break barriers. However, the designers decided to give her an easier shot with her secondary flame.

Power Slide gives Sojourn mobility. It’s a rocket-powered slide, which can be canceled into a high jump at any moment,” allowing Sojourn the ability to reposition herself and escape danger. Noh explains that she wanted to include a vertical component to her kit in order to allow her to quickly reach high-ground vantage points.

Sojourn’s Ultimate, Overclock rounds out the package. Sojourn’s Railgun activates and charges automatically. It allows her to fire at enemies for a brief time. This will enable her to quickly tear through enemies and can be compared to Genji’s Dragon Blade ranged version. It can either be a big or complete whiff.

Junker Queen

Since Junker Town’s release, the Junker Queen has been speculated and hinted at. But this Reddit user appears to have discovered a leak of her abilities. These rumors and leaks could either be true or false.

The Scattergun will be her primary weapon. It is essentially a shotgun. The Serrated Blade will be her secondary weapon. This will passively deal with a bleed when Junker Queen uses her melee attacks. She will be able to throw the blade and can activate it again to bring it back like a boomerang.

A’Raiding Cry‘ will give her supportive abilities. This gives her a speed boost and gives allies bonus life. An Adrenaline shot passive is also claimed to be her ability. However, this translation can cause confusion. While one theory states that she can heal the damage caused by bleed-like effects like fire damage or poison, others believe she can also convert the bleeding damage from her Serrated Blade to healing.

Carnage’ability is claimed to be the Junker Queen. This ability will cause damage to any enemy she comes across and also applies a bleeding effect. The Ultimate, RAMpage will see the Junker queen charge forwards and apply her bleeding effect as well as an anti-heal.

Given the high amount of bleeding effects and the fact that her Ultimate will allow her to heal herself, I believe that her Adrenaline Shot, based on the bleed damage she has dealt, will likely heal Junker Queen. This is similar to Briggitte’s healing when she deals with damage. The Scattergun could have an adjustable spread or bullet-by-bullet reload, which is something that was not mentioned in the article.

Magnus

Magnus is a final, but a less well-founded, rumor. A statue bearing the name Magnus was spotted by players in Colosseo. Although many doubt this rumor, Overwatch does not have a statue of an Italian hero. This Magnus clearly has ties to Rome. Magnus is well-built, with a large sword and large stature that would make him an ideal melee tank. Magnus might never be a Hero, but this is an intriguing rumor that seems plausible.
