The Star of “Moon Knight” explains Why There Will Not Be a Second Season.
Moon Knight is nearing the end of its first and possibly only season. Moon Knight is not like Doctor Strange in Multiverse of Madness, who is believed to be comeo crazy. Moon Knight has remained relatively detached from the larger Marvel Cinematic universe.
I support it. While I enjoy a good comeo and the interconnectedness of the MCU, it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t occasionally have something that breaks with the norm. It’s been a hit with Marvel fans, but despite all the praise for Moon Knight from everyone, Oscar Isaac is now exploring why a second season isn’t possible.
Isaac claims that season one was approached in a limited-event format. In a previously deleted tweet, Marvel had called this week’s final episode a “series conclusion.” However, they changed it to “season finale” and are now open to debate about the future of the series.
“You know, I think we approached it like ‘this story’ and let’s just get everything out of the table on this story,” Isaac stated to RadioTimes.
It is not planned to be continued. It would depend on the story […]. However, I love being Steven. It’s like being him physically. He later said that he would be glad to participate in a story that made sense.
RadioTimes claims Isaac was contracted for one season. However, knowing the MCU, it is unlikely that we have seen the last of Moon Knight. The show is part of the MCU’s Phase Four lineup.
May Calamaway, who plays Layla El-Faouly, shared Isaac’s insecurity, stating that “I haven’t heard anything so if [are their plans], I still have to hear.” If there were, I would, yeah. I’d think about returning. Yes. Although we are fairly certain Moon Knight would return, it is still unknown where or how.
