HBO’s “The Last of Us” Leaked Footage reveals the key unexplored backstory
There isn’t a single fan who doesn’t get excited about the new TV adaptation of The Last of Us. We’re sure in good hands with Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal playing Joel and Ellie. Everything we’ve seen so far from the set looks fantastic.
I released set footage earlier this week. This showed just how faithful the series was to the game. The Last of Us series is going to explore new territory and delve into previously unexplored backstories. TheLastofUsTV recently posted a video from filming in Calgary, Canada. Trucks drove through the crowd, chanting “Freedom” FEDRA. Flares were also set off. It was possible to hear extras shouting FEDRA “Freedom” over a background of gunfire.
This sequence is not one we go through in the game. There may be flashbacks to the early days of the epidemic when FEDRA tried to establish Quarantine zones (QZs) in various US cities.
Joel and Ellie meet in Boston QZ, which is still under FEDRA regulation. This clip doesn’t show that. Joel and Ellie travel to Pittsburgh, which was known to have been overrun by Hunters. This could be the reason we see here.
It’s a very promising sight, as The Last of Us series can explore backstories and other aspects of the story that aren’t appropriate for a video game’s pace. It would be wonderful to see Tommy and Joel’s darkest hunting days. I can’t wait to see the official trailer.
