‘Horizon Forbidden West’ Player Defeats All Machine Types Using A Rock

Guerrilla Games has a new offering that offers stunning visuals. It’s easy to spend hours in Aloy’s world, and the gameplay is great. A player decided to play Horizon Forbidden West with a unique approach, defeating all 43 types of machines using a simple rock.
I have logged close to 70 hours of gameplay (easily done), and I must admit that I did not know that you could use rocks in combat. I hope I am not the only one. Rocks are typically used to distract machines and send them searching in the other direction.
YouTuber LittleSix instead used rocks to take out all the different types of machines. He posted a compilation video online of his accomplishment. You’ll see that LittleSix first reduced each machine’s health using Aloy’s standard weapons before throwing a rock.
It is hard to imagine how much effort was required. LittleSix’s video states that rocks can knock off one health point, so LittleSix would have to ensure that a machine had only one remaining health point. This sounds impossible.
LittleSix spoke out about the difficulty, saying that “I can’t count the number of times I had a machine drop due to an extraneous factor to make it die.” Passing NPC’s who ‘help,’ my ropecaster suddenly doing some damage, getting a critical strike when I didn’t want one, accidentally placing traps, environmental kills that were the machine’s doing, my mount attacking, machines despawning even a dust devil killing a Dreadwing. Although it’s not something I will be doing again, it’s still impressive.
