WWE has reportedly put the Women’s Tag Team Championships on hold for the foreseeable future. They are currently formulating a plan to reintroduce them or throw them out completely. WWE quickly pulled the plug on plans for a multi-brand tournament that would crown new Women’s Tag Champions on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live. They will now cancel plans to crown new champions.

WWE officially stripped Sasha Banks of her championships just a few days after they handed them over to John Laurinaitis. Naomi then walked out of RAW. It would be difficult for them to gather enough competition to make their successors worthy, as there are few established female tag teams.

According to reports, the former Tag champions were not paid while they were absent. Both of their contracts will expire in the next weeks. This means that their future with the company is looking very bleak for fans.
