TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge Does Not Have DLC Plans, but It Isn’t Ruling It Out
This news was announced through a series of events that began with an episode of Xbox Expansion Pass. Yannick Belz, Narrative Designer, stated that the team did not plan to purchase any DLC costumes for beat-em ups. He specifically mentioned the complexity of animation required for the base game as a deterring factor. (Thanks IGN.) Belzil said that the team would rather create a new character than use existing skins.
Belzil stated that alternate costumes were not considered during production. “We’re proud of our animations and the animations have a lot of character and detail. They are animated with very fine details which makes it difficult to make them.
Belzil said, “I thought it would be cool if Turtles could wear trench coats and hats in the same way that they were incognito from the old cartoons.” But again, it would be a lot of work and, especially, with our animators. They’d like the trench coat flowing and dynamic.
After IGN published the quote, and the Twitter account claimed it said the game wouldn’t have DLC, Cyrille Imbert, CEO of publisher Dotemu, clarified that although there aren’t any DLC plans in place, Shredder’s Revengewill gets new content based on how the game is received and the ideas and feedback from the community.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Shredder’s Reign is out tomorrow. But, if you’d like to see the entire game in detail, there’s an episode of our First Byte video series:
