It can be challenging to build your town in Mount & Blade 2. You won’t be able to use the magic of console command without putting in the work. Once you have control of the settlement and its inhabitants, you will need to manage Town loyalty and security if your goal is to keep it.

Mount & Blade 2 – Bannerlord’s Town Loyalty, Security, and Security seem daunting concepts, especially if you are the first settlement you can control. These things don’t work in isolation, and the world around them will eventually threaten them. However, you can take a few avenues to ensure that your people don’t hate you enough to open arms against you.

Bannerlord’s Town Loyalty determines the likelihood of a rebellion by the population. Therefore, you must do all you can to prevent it from happening. Culture is an essential part of the loyalty puzzle. While gaining control over a city of your culture will not result in loyalty penalties, a penalty will be imposed as soon as the new conquest is from a different cultural group.

The Governor of each town is subject to the same rules. To mitigate loss in Town Loyalty to Bannerlord, assign each town a Governor who is part of its culture. You can also increase Town loyalty by upgrading your Fairgrounds project or choosing the Festival and Games daily default.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord’s Town Security will be tied into Town Loyalty. It has a drift that you’ll have to manage. The main thing here is the garrison you leave behind in each town.

Your people will feel safer if you have more soldiers and women to protect your settlements from foreign invasion. This, in turn, makes them more loyal. Increasing your garrison strength through Fortifications and Garrison Barracks is also a good idea.

People will appreciate that they are not starving, so if you want to win their trust, it is worth looking at other options. The Orchards project is one you should consider.

You can also use character perks to increase town loyalty and security in Mount & Blade II, Bannerlord. The Parade Perk (which gives settlements +5 loyalty per day) and the Security Perk (which grants +5 security per day while you wait) can be used to get additional bonuses.

You can find them all over the trees. If you want to stabilize your settlements, it is worth fishing for them.
