Optic Glass is less useful for lower-end gear, but it can also be used to create the Zeus Beam. This location also has the right tools you need if you are looking for that.
The Cycle: Frontier Optic Glass Location
Both can be found as random loot at Rock Pools, located to the west of the Bright Sands map. Optic Glass can also spawn around Science Campus in the southeast.
