Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice stands as one of the hardest titles from FromSoftware, according to its fans.
FromSoftware games are well known for being challenging. Even as their releases like Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring become more accessible, FromSoftware games still present a formidable challenge – fans think Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice might take the cake when it comes to difficulty!
Sekiro has long been considered one of the hardest souls games to master, requiring precision, patience and luck in equal measures to play well and master. Such elements have established Sekiro as one of the hardest soulsborne games you should never start out playing; something confirmed by fans who commented on a Reddit post by user Glxyoea asking whether Bloodborne should be added to his or her collection (the post read as follows:)). “Should I pick this game up even though I’ve never played one before? Or would this one prove too hard or overwhelming?”.”

At one point in the discussion of Bloodborne, one commenter posted, “The hardest Souls game you pick up can also be its most rewarding.” While this provided good advice for starting off a series like Sekiro, another commented said otherwise and replied with, “Except Sekiro; it’s completely different!”
Other fans quickly shared their experience and thoughts regarding Sekiro as they had played other soulsborne titles; many found Sekrio the hardest. “Too true. Beat every Souls game and Platinumed Bloodborne only to spend two weeks trying and failing at Sekiro’s final boss – by which point, when I beat it I wasn’t even happy; just relieved to finally beat it” stated one player; another added, “Just finished this Tuesday – took about 100 hours, three bosses particularly were the bane of my existence while someone commented further added “I beat all FromSoft souls games including Sekiro which by far out was by far harder. I defeated all FromSoft souls games including Sekiro. I beat every FromSoft souls game except Sekiro which by far proved extremely difficult”.
Sekiro can have an intimidating learning curve; even many experienced players believe you only start mastering its mechanics halfway through. Even then, enemies present challenges you should keep your wits about when facing off against. Yet regardless of its difficulty rating it earned top scores on Metacritic.
After the success of Elden Ring, many fans are curious as to What comes next from FromSoftware. Armoured Core VI will soon be arriving on PC while Elden Ring’s first DLC expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, remains under development. Many fans were hoping that Sony and PC would also release a Bloodborne Remaster; unfortunately they have yet to appear at their PlayStation Showcase event this past September.
