Amnesia: How to Disable Traps in Bunkers
Amnesia: The Bunker, set during World War I, boasts many unnerving elements to make life underground more challenging than usual. One way in which Frictional wants to add pain is through placing traps all around; though there may be ways of disarming these devices.
Amnesia: The Bunker players looking to disarm traps must first acquire Chain Cutters found within the Prison section. You will first have to open up this section using Lockdown Wheel before procuring Foreman Stafford’s code and getting hold of Chain Cutters from Inside Prison section.
Once you possess Chain Cutters, simply go into your inventory and select them – this should allow you to disarm any traps with tripwires, which should allow you to take any explosives attached – making life much simpler for avoiding detection by stalkers; unfortunately this feature only becomes accessible after halfway through your game journey.
Chain Cutters can also be used to remove padlocks on doors and filing cabinets; you will require this tool in the main story in order to reach the Tunnels area.
