After seven years, PS3 Skyrim player boots it up only to discover an endless trail of bugs.
After playing Skyrim on PS3 for seven years, one player recently discovered an endless maze of bugs and glitches when booting it back up after seven.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has earned itself the reputation as an unforgettable fantasy-action-adventure RPG. There’s a good reason Bethesda continues porting Skyrim even after over 10 years since its initial launch, because fans simply can’t get enough.
Unfortunately, as much as fans love Bethesda RPGs, it can often come plagued with bugs and glitches. From The Elder Scrolls to Fallout – bugs of various sorts exist regardless of which game it’s being used on, making for either humorous or frustrating gameplay experiences at launch time – hopefully Starfield will provide smooth experience upon launch day!
My first encounter with Bethesda’s bug-riddled games was The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion on PlayStation 3. Luckily, although still far from perfect, Xbox 360 version fared much better in terms of stability.
Once released in 2011, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim quickly became marred with bugs across all platforms – much like Oblivion on PS3, one particular port proved especially troublesome.
Yet after seven years, as reported by Game Rant, one player decided to reboot Skyrim on PS3, only to discover that not only has war never changed – Bethesda PS3 ports are no different either!
Redditor Substantial_Car_4092 shared a clip showcasing their experience when trying to play Skyrim on PS3, almost none of its assets had downloaded properly. “Initially it downloaded regularly but once I started it it froze for over 2 hours before restarting – even while trying different browser tabs.” They reported “My avatar keeps repeating “Stop/Stuff.” What can be done to fix it?”
“Looks like in 7 years Alduin won,” jokes Skelter89. Puzzled-Election8667 agreed and added, “Just Bethesda stuff lol”. Sirbrandon100 offered some comic relief by commenting, “Sounds like The Dragonborn has lost,” adding some insight from Sirbrandon100’s commentary.
Substantial_Car_4092 shared their difficulty on Reddit as noobsaibro1 also experienced it on PS3. “Had this exact same glitch happen two years ago on PS3, except all NPCs would get stuck inside my cart under the map and die within seconds causing me to die over and over,” noobsaibro1 revealed. It seems no one knows why this happens as no one could explain. This really strange experience couldn’t possibly make sense!
As one of the general rules of console generation 8 was to not play any Bethesda titles on PS3, talented modders have created an expansive Dawnguard sequel and another has significantly modified it in terms of content and gameplay improvements.
