Remakes of our beloved video games are always appreciated by gamers, and if Final Fantasy is your game of choice then get ready for another RPG revamp treat.

Final Fantasy IX first hit PlayStation in 2000 before eventually being made available across various platforms over time. Though there have been occasional graphics updates over time, none were ever completely overhauled or redone until now – as reported by DSOgaming, fans of Final Fantasy IX can expect an extra special treat in Memoria Project, powered by Unreal Engine 5. This remake retains many core visuals and gameplay aspects while giving an upgrade with modernised visuals in HD quality; additionally there’s even an playable demo available – with certain restrictions in playability being put in place in terms of time limits on when demo-players must complete tasks in order to unlock additional areas; there’s just no demo-only access.

Final Fantasy XVI will soon be out to buy, so have a look below at what to expect in terms of gameplay!

Final Fantasy IX: Memoria Project is being created by over 50 passionate fans of this legendary JRPG series – comprising talented developers and artists – as a way of showing us what a modernized remake might resemble.

As previously discussed, there exists a playable demo with one catch; this demo bears both good and bad news: its main advantage being 25 minutes in duration while on the downside, it will remain exclusive for developers only and not made publically available for all to try it. Watch its action unfold below!

Assumably, one reason the Final Fantasy IX: Memoria Project playable demo hasn’t been made public is in order to reduce Square Enix’s chances of forcing developers to remove it. But even without public release of this demo from Square Enix’s end, cease and desist orders may still come down, let’s hope they don’t come true!

Square Enix has proven their commitment to official remakes time after time; April 2020 marked the debut of Final Fantasy VII: Remake with Rebirth set for release later in 2017. We can only hope that as Square Enix tackles each sequel they may bring us an official Final Fantasy IX remake one day soon!
