Relive some nostalgia! According to recent teases by Sony, it appears as if Siren will return on PlayStation 5. That would certainly please many of us who loved playing it back when PS2 first launched it back in 2007.

Remakes and remasters have become the darlings of gaming in 2023 as we all desire revisits of beloved titles from years gone by. Dead Space, Resident Evil 4 Remastered and Metroid Prime Remastered top the charts; at last month’s PlayStation Showcase it was revealed that Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater would receive its remake, plus Croc HD finally being announced; how are Croc: Legend of the Gobbos fans feeling about that announcement? And finally PlayStation is hinting Siren could make its comeback later on this year or possibly next!

Siren (also titled Forbidden Siren) first released on the PS2 back in 2003 by Japan Studio and features interlinked characters who can hear and see everything that nearby characters hear or see – such as what nearby survivors see after experiencing supernatural disaster. You will spend most of the game trying to leave town as quickly as possible after said disaster occurred while also trying to unravel its cause through conversation with Shibito who may or may not appear during gameplay!

Siren was first released as Forbidden Siren 2 in 2005, followed by Siren: Blood Curse which provided an alternate take of its sequel. If you have played Astro’s Playroom on PS5, chances are you may have come across nods to Siren. As reported by PushSquare, PlayStation have hinted at two separate celebration events to honor its twentieth birthday celebration of Siren in 2019.

PlayStation Japan recently unveiled two events aimed at revitalizing old titles: The Siren in Namjatown Festival from 14 July-3 September and Ikai-Iri Siren 20th Anniversary from 3 August-5 August respectively. Though details regarding each of the two festivals remain vague, hopefully both events make these timeless titles playable again today; we can only hope!
