PlayStation Plus subscribers report major error after becoming locked out of their games.
Gamers know it can be frustrating when an eagerly anticipated title proves unplayable and must be returned unopened.
Unfortunately, that has happened to some PlayStation Plus subscribers who were locked out from playing their games. When my PS4 upstairs became inaccessible with no way of accessing my PlayStation Plus games, I assumed perhaps PSN might have been down or maybe an issue related to sharing an account between my son and myself was to blame; when I checked downstairs with my PS5, however, all PS Plus titles were readily accessible! My issue was finally solved the next morning after all!
Gamers’ frustration on Reddit revealed my situation as happening to them as well – as previously indicated, this issue most certainly is!
“All my PS Plus games I downloaded are locked; only my one free game remains unlocked for playback. What gives? Someone else seems to have downloaded my games unlocked for them!” remarked Chicken_Boy_1781.
“I recently downloaded one of Sony’s games and it appears unlocked – can someone explain what’s up?” They continued by explaining, “whenever I click on any games it says how to activate my PS4 as primary and it can’t connect to their server to verify license.” Several members in Reddit thread also experienced this error with Sony servers failing to connect and verify licences – suggesting it may be their responsibility rather than ours.
“Yesterday I encountered the same issue and tried different remedies; only using my phone’s internet to temporarily restore the game license worked,” replied Ozankes. “However after 30-60 minutes playing time the system informed me I must verify my licence again and verify it again before continuing playback.
Different users within this thread offered several possible solutions, including renewing your license settings, booting the console into Safe Mode to rebuild data or conducting a network connection test.
However, none of my suggestions had any success for Chicken_Boy_1781. Probably best is just to wait it out until things resolve themselves as this likely stems from temporary server related issues and not something more permanent like my situation was.
PlayStation Plus subscribers were delighted to discover a “beautiful,” highly recommended free game to download as part of their subscription, while they also gained a recent bonus perk – making for a happy subscriber experience!
