Jen Oneal Steps Down From Blizzard To Focus On Fostering the Gaming Industry As A Whole

Jen Oneal announced her decision to leave Activision Blizzard today after only three months serving in her role as Co-Lead of Blizzard alongside Mike Ybarra after replacing J. Allen Brack as Co-Leader back in August.

Oneal has been greatly impressed with the dedication and drive seen at her company recently and uses these efforts as motivation to pause and consider how best she can contribute to advancing gaming as an industry.

Today marks Mike Ybarra’s sole leadership of Blizzard; however Jen will assist during its transition during 2021 before moving into another role.

Activision Blizzard worked closely with Jen in her decision process and recently provided Women in Games International with a $1 Million Grant; Jen will work together with both parties to use this funding for skill building and mentoring programs across the industry.

“I wanted to let the Blizzard community know personally how strongly I trust Mike and the rest of Blizzard’s leadership – in terms of culture as well as games – I truly believe their best days lie ahead; hopefully this letter encourages all readers to consider ways in which we can all help make every individual in our communities- no matter their gender, race or identity – feel welcome, comfortable and free to be themselves,” Jen Oneal states in her letter addressed directly to Activision Blizzard members.
