Xbox is set to unveil and ship out its brand-new console this year.
So that was quite a show! Personally, I can barely keep up with all of the amazing announcements we’ve been blessed with thus far – Starfield related content still being released as we speak!
Expectations were set high going into Xbox Games Showcase for new game announcements; no one anticipated seeing hardware shown off! But Xbox boss Phil Spencer made everyone surprised by revealing announcing that an improved Xbox Series S will launch later in 2018–something everyone was not anticipating seeing at all! It sounds amazing.
Beyond its stunning Carbon Black exterior, one of the greatest advantages of the new Series S console lies in its increased storage space – it will hold 1TB worth of games! Set to launch stores nationwide starting 1 September.
As one might anticipate given its substantial upgrade, the Carbon Black Xbox Series S will cost significantly more than its existing base model on sale now. Residents in the U.S. should plan to spend $349.99 (compared with its predecessor which retails for about $299.99). But considering it provides almost double storage capacity than before, I think many would agree this is fair pricing.
Don’t be deceived: the Carbon Black Xbox Series S is no better in performance than its predecessor; so if limited power was keeping you away, this new device won’t change that situation.
Overall, however, this console should be seen as the ideal solution for Xbox users with a substantial backlog of games to finish. Perhaps its storage expansion cards won’t need replacing so frequently either; and let’s face it; its sleek new color looks fantastic.
