Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty will finally introduce vehicular combat into its gameplay experience.
As part of their Xbox Showcase presentation, CD Projekt Red and Keanu Reeves gave viewers their first look at Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty expansion via story trailer, gameplay footage and its controversial price point.
V and Johnny Silverhand will travel to Dog Town in order to save V’s life, destroying anything or anyone that stands in their path – now CD Projekt Red has revealed vehicular combat as another method for eliminating enemies!
Attentive fans browsing screenshots from CD Projekt Red’s forthcoming expansion noticed what appeared to be V firing his pistol while driving a motorcycle; later confirmed as part of its new feature set for inclusion into Phantom Liberty by CD Projekt Red communication manager Pawel Burza, this feature can now be found within Phantom Liberty as vehicle combat will now feature. You’ll be able to fire guns directly from either your car or bike or use weapons mounted directly on them.”
Cyberpunk 2077’s story had several segments where players would fire upon vehicles that chased after them, though these scenes resembled action set pieces with no control of what vehicle they were in. With Cyberpunk’s DLC release, however, players will finally have complete freedom over where and when their weapons will fire while driving; similar to Grand Theft Auto games with greater combat abilities but less control of the car they are driving in.
Cyberpunk 2077 has made remarkable progress since its initially disastrous release and now receives regular content updates and patches that improve both its graphical fidelity and performance. Due to such poor launch results, it was even accepted into New York Museum of Failures this year!
Phantom Liberty will bring new stories and characters (such as Idris Elba’s Solomon Reed), along with an all new skill tree and potentially some exciting weapons, vehicles and customisation options that allow players to express themselves both violently and stylishly. Set to launch later in 2018 at PS24.99/$29.99 pricepoint.
