Metroidvania free on Steam before its official release
If you weren’t already anticipating several new games, chances are the recent game showcases from Xbox, Ubisoft and PlayStation have changed that. I had difficulty keeping up with 2018 releases already but my backlog now threatens to explode even further!
Understandably, much of the internet’s attention has been drawn toward AAA titles like Star Wars Outlaws (Ubisoft’s open-world Star Wars adventure with an intriguing droid) and Fable, which finally received its teaser trailer after years. But I make an appeal: don’t overlook all of the exciting indie titles; right now on Steam there is even an upcoming Metroidvania title free for preview before its official launch; perhaps this could turn out to be another hidden gem?
Ebenezer and The Invisible World is a 2D Metroidvania adventure featuring Ebenezer Scrooge as both good guy and antagonist in an exquisite hand-drawn world based on Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. As Ebenezer battles through London he must utilize ghosts’ powers to unlock new ones to save it from industrialist Caspar Malthus (and his Private Guard), unlock new abilities from them, and ultimately save London. You will uncover more information regarding Malthus family secrets throughout.
As seen from its trailer, Ebenezer and The Invisible World looks absolutely breathtaking, using ghosts to navigate and fight enemies is such an innovative concept! While no release date for Ebenezer and The Invisible World has been set as of yet on PCs you can test out a free demo via Steam immediately!
Ebenezer and The Invisible World will soon be making an appearance on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Series X/S devices.
