Starfield: Your spaceship comes equipped with an emergency stop button in case things escalate quickly.
Starfield will launch on 6 September from Bethesda and looks like being quite the space adventure.
Starfield has already made quite the impression since being revealed at Xbox Games Showcase nearly one week ago, revealing over 1,000 planets for us to discover, while New Atlantis became Bethesda’s largest city ever created, the Adoring Fan is back, NPCs will call you by your actual real life name, the map is probably one of the largest we’ve ever seen while its 30fps lock may cause controversy; and now comes word that spaceships will feature an “outrage quit” button you can activate at any moment; I explain this below.
PC Gamer reported that fans spotted the “rage quit” button during the most recent gameplay deep dive. We got an up close and personal view of one ship’s cockpit control panels with various switches and buttons labeled port gear and life support – as expected – while one more amusingly read simply: rage quit – which, although saying so explicitly is usually when something angers players enough that they have to turn it off!
Developers were clearly thinking this detail would make for an amusing gaming fan moment, yet its functionality remains unknown; Dexerto suggests you will be able to press it while flying through space if you press a rage quit button, however; I don’t know whether your ship would explode, drift aimlessly through space, or disappear into an unspeakably deep black hole? Only time will tell!
