Fans eagerly anticipate Cyberpunk 2077 expansion Phantom Liberty, yet many remain concerned it could make running the game on lower-end hardware more challenging.

Cyberpunk 2077’s launch in 2020 was far from impressive; we still can’t forget it’s infamy at the New York Museum of Failures! Performance has since improved through patches; but PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and lower end PC users may still experience issues when running it; that could only get worse after installing Phantom Liberty expansion which raises system requirements – especially if your system barely met minimum performance threshold requirements in its initial state! If that happens to be your PC situation too – expect an upheaval during its next update that raises minimum requirements further!

CD Projekt Red recently discussed changes to system requirements and stated: “Our newly established minimum requirements reflect what we believe are accurate reflections of a minimum PC configuration needed to run at 1080p, while maintaining an average 30 FPS at low preset settings. These modifications reflect how updating requirements is an essential component of game improvement processes and adding new features and elements.”

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will also remove external hard-drive support, forcing players to save and install on internal SSDs – similar to another recent game release Starfield. V and Johnny Silverhand travel to a new area within Night City called Dog Town where new characters like Idris Elba play an essential part. There will also be vehicular combat gameplay mechanics introduced.

Phantom Liberty DLC will launch for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC platforms in September 2023 at an anticipated price point of PS24.99 – something which has caused some fans to voice concerns over pricing.
