Sony PlayStation 5 users are invited to download and experience its next major exclusive free of charge now! The next major exclusive is available free-to-download and play now, ensuring players won’t miss out.
Final Fantasy fans can now experience an exclusive preview demo for Final Fantasy XVI one week prior to its official release date.
Game demos appear to be declining forms of media, with less and less being included with new releases. This goes directly against what gamers want; many have asked for playable demos after experiencing poorly optimised releases such as Redfall for Xbox and The Last Of Us Part 1 on PC. It seems Square Enix listened as their free demo of Final Fantasy XVI is now out to public for download for no charge; its stunning quality may make this one of the biggest reasons to buy a PS5.
Released earlier this week, this PS5 exclusive demo can be found free on PlayStation Store as a download, taking users through its prologue. Offering two hours of gameplay time – any progress made during demo can even transfer over into full game so players don’t have to retrace steps on initial playthrough!
Final Fantasy XVI marks a long-awaited return of this legendary series that last saw mainline entries since 2016, barring remakes or spinoff titles of Final Fantasy VII. It takes players back into an “epic dark fantasy world”, returning more closely to mediaeval roots after leaning more towards modern or steampunk aesthetic. They take control of Clive Rosfield a warrior known as the “First Shield of Rosaria”, who’s main mission is protecting Joshua who plays an essential part in world and story development.
Final Fantasy VII will mark a landmark change to its established turn-based combat formula with fast, flashy combat more similar to Devil May Cry 5. Ryota Suzuki also worked as combat director on Devil May Cry 5, giving us even further evidence that change.
Downloading the Final Fantasy XVI demo now on PlayStation Store is absolutely free and any progress made during it can be carried over into its main release on 22 June.
