Steam’s most-played horror game, Horror House: Season One is finally coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S consoles!
One of Steam’s acclaimed horror games will soon make the leap onto PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles following an enormously popular Early Access period on PC platforms.
So far this year has been an amazing one for horror enthusiasts. Dead Space made an outstanding start, followed by Resident Evil 4 which proved even more terrifying! There is much more in store. Alan Wake 2 will hit shelves on 17 October; inspired by True Detective director Sam Lake has said the game should be accessible to new players while its gameplay could even rival The Last of Us or Resident Evil on consoles! Additionally, popular Steam horror Phasmophobia will now also make the leap onto consoles!
Phasmophobia, described by GameRant as an exciting 4-player co-op horror title, currently exists as Early Access on PC after debuting in 2020 but will eventually also be playable on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PS VR2. As its focus centers around ghost hunting, players in Phasmophobia must use various paranormal detectors in their team in order to track them down using various pieces of paranormal detection gear and seek safety from some rather terrifying spirits!
At present, there are 10 locations to discover featuring 20 varieties of ghosts; though I expect this number could grow once it leaves Early Access. At time of writing, Ghost Stories: Ghost Hunt had earned 96% on Steam with much praise going towards its atmosphere and immersion – one user wrote “Good game to play; gives my spooks and my friends an enjoyable challenge,” while another person claimed they can close doors on friends to watch them die through ghost attacks; although not sure I’d want to play alongside such individuals!
No date for launch has been given but we expect it to take place by August 2023 at latest. Early Access remains in place despite console release.
