Bungie addressed one question from Destiny 2 players concerning hand cannons as part of this week’s news post: what state they currently were in.

Bungie did not give an explicit response when asked by players whether hand cannons will receive any changes; they did mention, however, that an update in Season 20 provided increased damage while hand cannons still underperformed PVE content. For now though they’re playtesting reload speeds as well as increasing red-bar enemy damage by 20% while increasing orange bar enemies by 75% for testing purposes.

Bungie introduced in their post a subcategory of hand cannons called “heavy burst hand cannons”, featuring cannons capable of firing two rounds simultaneously and with impactful twin firing rounds – known as Double Fire intrinsic traits with impactful twin firing rounds already featured in Warden of Nothing Nightfall strike in Destiny 2: Forsaken — called Heavy Burst Hand Cannons that are more pleasing for players; these hand Cannons currently remain locked at Power level 1060 so it remains unknown when or will return with this form in this form!

Bungie promises that an upcoming season will also focus on tuning glaives so they are “more satisfying to use, especially during PvP,” according to Bungie. Furthermore, Exotic glaives — acquired via tedious questlines but ultimately disappointing players when used during combat — will receive updates through changes that make activating an Exotic perk easier and possibly other changes as well.
