The Last Of Us has been named Greatest Game Of All-Time by an international poll of gamers.
At least, everyone loves one game or franchise wholeheartedly; for me personally it’s The Last of Us (Parts II in particular!), of which I could rave on for hours on end about its excellence and perfection. And apparently not just me either as this incredible title has just been named the greatest game ever in an extensive poll conducted across several gaming communities!
Fans of The Last of Us had an exceptional start to 2018 thanks to HBO’s superb adaptation. Unfortunately, though, that release was soon after followed by the disappointing PC release – more on that in a future article! Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us multiplayer project seems to have taken a backseat recently due to financial considerations. Naughty Dog’s PlayStation Showcase project had originally been scheduled for launch last month; however, after reviewing Bungie’s feedback they began doubting its long-term viability and decided instead to work on another single-player project instead – one which may or may not be single player focused. Either way though Naughty Dog have earned yet another accolade with their original game!
Empire conducted a poll inviting readers to vote for the 100 greatest videogames ever. The Last of Us emerged victorious thanks to its story, impact and characters being highly acclaimed by respondents. Other contenders in descending order include Elden Ring Tetris Super Mario 64 Final Fantasy VII BioShock Grand Theft Auto V Pokemon Red Blue Yellow Minecraft
Halo: Combat Evolved, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, Shadow of the Colossus and Street Fighter II are among the top 20 titles, followed by World of Warcraft, The Last of Us Part II Final Fantasy IX The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Spider-Man Miles Morales was one surprise inclusion which even outranked original Marvel’s Spider-Man and didn’t even place.
Let’s look at other commonly popular games: Bloodborne was at 27, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves at 29 and Red Dead Redemption 2 at 30 respectively; God of War came in at 38 with Horizon Zero Dawn 55th on this list and Super Mario Odyssey 64th overall; you can view all 64 on my full list for discussion purposes!
