PlayStation boss is confident Call of Duty will continue on the console.

Jim Ryan, PlayStation’s head, stated he’s pretty certain Call of Duty would remain available on their console; I find his statement concerning Call of Duty somewhat disillusioning and I remain dubious as to his certainty in that regard.

Microsoft is in the midst of trying to acquire Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion through an unprecedented $68.7 billion deal, yet has found itself experiencing difficulty along its journey. First, Britain’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) blocked it and without successful appeal may prevent Microsoft from proposing this merger there for another 10 years; additionally an injunction has been filed by US’ Federal Trade Commission (FTC), who expressed concerns that such an acquisition might increase Microsoft’s monopoly over cloud gaming as well as future availability of Call of Duty franchise titles if this deal were successful – both concerns which will no doubt raise eyebrows among regulators globally!

Microsoft has assured regulators that they won’t make Call of Duty an Xbox-only title by offering 10-year access deals to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch instead. In an ongoing trial with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Redfall and Starfield became exclusive Xbox titles shortly after Microsoft purchased ZeniMax; an email written by PlayStation boss Jim Ryan seems to suggest they remain certain they’ll maintain access.

Reports IGN that Ryan wrote an email, seen by reporter Rebekah Valentine during an ongoing court case, in which she concluded “I am pretty certain we will continue seeing Call of Duty on PlayStation for many years to come.” In it he discussed its not being exclusive to Xbox, with both Phil Spencer and Bobby Kotick available as resources to make moves like these possible; “it is certainly no exclusivity play at all; they have more money available now to them to make moves like these – over this past day I spent time talking with both Phil Spencer and Bobby Kotick as well as spending considerable time talking over here about this matter with regards to calling COD games continued presence on PS for many more years to come!”

“Keep an open mind as we have some exciting developments underway. Don’t take my word for it; however, things should pan out positively; the trial continues onward.”
