Xbox exclusive Forza Horizon games have long featured crossovers between franchises such as Fast & Furious, James Bond and Hot Wheels; now there will be perhaps its greatest crossover yet: Cars from Barbie: the Movie being released later this summer will make their appearance.
Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling will take the roles of Barbie and Ken respectively, in an action adventure which brings these world-famous dolls to real-life situations. A recent trailer release inspired thousands to express both genuine excitement and their ironic delight at seeing this flick come to fruition.
As part of its release celebrations, two cars may soon be added to the game roster: a corvette and hummer from the film featuring hot-pink hues associated with its characters. A release date and pricing information has yet to be provided by The_Iceman2288 on GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit but fans seem excited at its potential addition!
One person tweeted “I will redownload FH5 just because of this movie,” while another posted: “Finally have an excuse to play FH5. The movie will make billions.” Someone else added: “This is what will kill PlayStation and not [Activision’s merger].”
Many also commented on how comically inappropriate it would be if these cars matched up exactly to the toys that inspired them, though that seems highly unlikely considering how long it’d take if players were actually miniature figures to traverse Forza’s map! Hardcore Forza fans also responded positively to this collaboration by discussing which cars might work well with races and other activities within Forza itself.
