While some GTA Online players may already be anticipating what may come once GTA 6 receives its official release date, others simply aim to maximize their remaining time in Los Santos.

Some hardened criminals had high hopes that the San Andreas Mercenaries update would reignite their passion for it after some weekly updates left them disappointed, yet so far the DLC seems largely ineffective at doing this.

One aspect that proved particularly controversial was the removal of thousands of vehicles from in-game websites, according to PCGamesN. Now a bizarre bug has surfaced which makes matters even worse by making it possible for your cars to permanently vanish due to some sort of poor insurance plan.

Reddit user Anorint’s video below clearly highlights this problem, in which players lose vehicles worth significant sums of in-game currency due to Mors Mutual insurance suddenly ceasing coverage on these damaged automobiles.

As one might imagine, this situation has created much unrest among players; with some venturing so far as uploading images showing empty spots where their cars should have been or memorialize old photos as memorials to Reddit as tribute.

User JoA2506 joked on one thread about its widespread nature by suggesting: “Had I $1 for every post [he/she has read about this matter], it could cover everyone’s lost vehicles!”

Rockstar Games has already confirmed it’s investigating this problem by posting on Twitter: “We are aware of an issue regarding vehicles and the loss of vehicle insurance in GTA Online, we are working towards resolution as quickly as possible and will share an update as soon as it becomes available.”

At this point, those who believe they’ve fallen prey to Rockstar’s bug should submit help requests via its support website in order to have Rockstar investigate what accounts have lost vehicles and devise a strategy to rectify any issues that might exist.

Update: Rockstar has confirmed the bug has been addressed via Twitter: “The issue affecting vehicle insurance not applying correctly in GTA Online has now been fixed, thanks for your patience!”

No matter whether or not you plan to replicate this group’s efforts in GTA 6, follow us for updates regarding new vehicles and more as they arrive!
