Bungie Is Aware of Exotic Weapon Struggles
Destiny 2 community members had plenty of questions for Bungie about forthcoming changes, with regards to Exotic weapon and kinetic weapon modifications as well as future seasons’ plans. Bungie provided answers during a lengthy Q&A style discussion hosted on TWID about these matters and more!
Bungie noted it had noted an imbalance with regards to Kinetic weapons not playing an integral part in buildcrafting and has adjusted accordingly, including adding Kinetic Tremors traits that increase damage against unshielded foes as well as increasing Strand and Stasis weapons for this slot in an effort to address it. Furthermore, they hinted “we may add something unique this year-of-The-Final-Shape timeline that may make Kinetic weapons even better!”
Bungie provided more detailed answers regarding Exotic tuning for Season 22 and 23 changes players could expect, playtesting the Le Monarque bow nerf as well as Touch of Malice buff which players could witness next season. Bungie further stated: “Please also bear in mind that zoom-to-damage-falloff normalization and sword guard rework will both impact Exotic weapons,” according to their explanation of S22 changes; they plan to adjust how players trigger Exotic Glaive abilities as well.
Bungie recently created an Exotic catalyst for an older Exotic weapon as per popular request and is said to be among the “most complex catalysts” ever developed by them, according to Bungie. As evidenced in Season of the Deep when Malfeasance Cannon from Forsaken received one; currently out of 110 Exotic weapons have catalysts installed and are playable within Destiny 2 itself 77 out of 110 have them now!
Beyond Exotic tuning, legendary traits like Shoot to Loot, Bipod and Under-Over will also experience changes.
