Final Fantasy 16 players cannot decide between Cid or Balthier as their favorite character from Final Fantasy 12.
Even though some Final Fantasy fans might feel overwhelmed with information prior to release, Final Fantasy 16 fans may now have forgotten any reservations they might have held regarding its arrival.
Unfortunately, however, many players appear divided about this game thus far, with some questioning whether it provides the kind of unique experience that defines Final Fantasy series while others use its reception to reignite debate surrounding it.
Unsurprisingly, there have been less serious discussions occurring within the community as well. One such argument involved players trying to decide between Final Fantasy 16’s Cid or 12’s Balthier as their preferred characters.

Response from their fellow fans seems evenly split, though supporters of Final Fantasy 16’s Cid seem more inclined to argue for him as having had one of the greatest interactions within its long history.
Many Balthier fans in this thread pointed to his playable nature and ability to make Vaan feel like secondary character as reasons he still reigns supreme in their estimation.
Users such as Gilgagoogyta have suggested that both characters share many similar personality traits; specifically they noted: “Cid resembles Balthier from Final Fantasy 15 with added years of life experience and responsibility compared to what Balthier could bring on their own. He even has some qualities from both characters such as their overall demeanor.”
