PlayStation Plus free games in August 2023 could make this month the highlight of 2023.
Sony PlayStation Plus’ August free games carry great weight. It would be accurate to say they could make or break PS Plus subscription plans this month.
PlayStation Plus’ year hasn’t exactly gone according to plan so far; while there have been some truly fantastic additions such as iconic trilogies and stunning PS5 exclusives, there have also been some missteps along the way. But things appear to be looking up already; which bodes well for August’s free games offering!
Last month’s PlayStation Plus Essential games for July are Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Alan Wake Remastered, and Endling – Extinction is Forever; all great options to add some variety into the mix! Additionally, many fantastic new titles have also been unlocked through Extra tier including one of my favourite releases in years – like My Time At Portia (pictured here)!
What awaits August in PlayStation Plus terms? Will its fairy godmother live up to her promises, or can we expect another dissatisfying month? While we still can’t be certain which free games subscribers can look forward to this August, let’s review past Augusts to get an idea of what awaits them this time around.
Last August was quite exciting indeed; with Fall Guys making headlines during lockdown. Also notable is Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s Remastered Campaign being widely considered one of the greatest single player FPS experiences available today.
2022 was far from disappointing with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 Remastered, Little Nightmares and Yakuza: Like A Dragon all being included as highlights.
Although PlayStation Plus doesn’t follow a predictable formula, things look promising for August 2023. Based on my observations of previous months’ releases (in terms of indie titles, AAA releases and curveball titles), my prediction would likely involve Oxenfree, Immortals: Fenyx Rising and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga being included among others – check back in one month to see just how off base I was!
