Warzone developers reverse decision on Vondel feature
Warzone developers are no strangers to making minor adjustments across various aspects of the game, usually as part of seasonal updates; but, occasionally smaller adjustments such as those to Call of Duty’s battle royale can arrive as hotfixes.
As anticipation builds up for Season 4 Reloaded’s launch, new updates to Warzone’s anticheat are leading hackers to experience “hallucinates” during matches while SO-14 continues its reign over meta.
Recent changes to the game involve Vondel map’s recent debut. Players participating have noticed its visual overhaul – much to their pleasure!
On June 26th 2023, Raven Software quietly revealed it had significantly reduced the likelihood of fog appearing during Vondel Resurgence matches.
While some fans of Resurgence/BR are delighted by its modifications, some want the developer to go one step further by eliminating all fog altogether. A Twitter user suggested this idea with this tweet. “Let’s go one step further by eliminating fog entirely from Resurgence/BR. Our map features perfect visibility and vibrant colours – there’s no reason for us to ruin them by having opaque fog cover our maps! No reason!”
Vondel’s fog debuted as part of Season 4 update and instead altered gameplay significantly; players instead preferred staying indoors until later stages in a match when its mist would subside.
Though some want the fog gone, others appreciate its presence – one player said as much when speaking of dynamic weather effects: “But I like the fog… Are people complaining about it too?” One fan explained.
Based on community input, community sentiment indicates a higher chance of Vondel fog being removed altogether in favour of clear skies rather than remaining for any prolonged duration. We shall wait and see which approach Raven Software takes towards this matter.
